What Is a Proxy Node? How to Choose Nodes and Proxy Groups
Understand nodes, proxy groups, latency, speed and stability, with a practical selection workflow.
A node is not the provider
A proxy provider usually supplies a subscription, and the subscription contains nodes. A node is one concrete endpoint.
Stability before raw latency
A low ping does not guarantee good throughput. Compare success rate, latency consistency, real-world speed and peak-time behavior.
Proxy groups
Think of a proxy group as a set of nodes plus a selection strategy. Manual selection is useful for testing; automatic selection is convenient for daily use.
How to test nodes
Compare multiple nodes on the same network and time window, recording latency, handshake success, web access and throughput.
Common mistakes
Do not rank nodes only by country, and do not judge an entire provider from one temporarily slow node.
Keep it reproducible
Change one network setting at a time and test after each change.
