What Is a Proxy Subscription URL? Import and Update Guide
Explains subscription URLs, profiles and nodes, plus a safe workflow for importing and updating subscriptions.
Separate three concepts
The provider supplies the service; a subscription is usually a remote URL or configuration entry; a node is an actual endpoint. One subscription may contain multiple nodes and proxy groups.
Getting a subscription
Copy the subscription URL from the provider account or dashboard. Treat the URL as sensitive because it may grant access to your configuration or account data.
Import workflow
Copy subscription → add remote profile → update → verify profiles/nodes → select a node. Button names differ by client.
When updates fail
Check expiration, reachability, supported formats and provider availability. Keep the previous working profile until the new one is confirmed.
Best practices
Use a sensible update interval, never publish subscription URLs in public repositories, and rotate/revoke old links when appropriate.
Keep it reproducible
Change one network setting at a time and test after each change.
